【摘要】:Theair-flowresistance(pressuredrop)ofafilterisanimportantparameterthatcanassistincharacterizingthephysicalmake-upaswellastheutilityofafilter.Therefore,flowcharacteristicsofcleanfiltermediacanbeusedforqualitycontrol,productdevelopment,andbasicresearch.Itmaybeusedbytheproduceroffiltermediatoillustratemediatypeortomeetproductspecificationandcanbeusedbytheconsumerasacriterionformediaselection.Thesemethodsmayalsobeusedforacceptancetesting.Forpurposesofqualitycontrol,meetingproductspecification,oracceptancetesting,asingle-pointflowregimeonmultiplesamplesisadequate.However,fordesign,development,andresearch,amultiple-pointflowregimemaybenecessary.1.1Theflowresistanceofanyfabricatedfilterdevicewilldependontheflowresistanceofthemediaused.1.2Thisstandardoffersproceduressufficienttodeterminethegasflowcharacteristicsofflatspecimensofmediausedinthefiltrationprocess.Themethodsareextendedtoincludepleatedspecimensandbulkmediaaswell.1.3Inallcases,flowratesthroughthespecimenaredeterminedinaccordancewithproceduresoutlinedinASME"FluidMeters."Thetestfluidisair.Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblemsassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
